A Haunting Sunrise!

Have you ever seen anything like it?
I found it amazing! Spring/February is such
a month of change and beautiful sky
formations here in the High Country
(I saw some this morning, vast swirling clouds
moving fast over the mountain peaks!) It is

already light out much earlier and the changing
weather patterns, winds and temperatures make
for very beautiful morning scenery if you arise
early
enough to view it!
I love this shot. My husband
took this.
Double click
to 'enter' the shot
and
get the full and the awesome
effect it delivers!

And...
have a great and
a very good day,
friends.

:)
Enjoy.

Spring Creek and a Poem

Spring Creek

I Am

I am the light that flickers luminous, upon the rippled water

I am the gentle breeze that tickles the nape of your neck

I am the happy smile of a child singing a riddle

I am the billowing clouds that roll across the very top of the mountain pines

I am the fiery glint of a reflection of the rising sun across the valley

I am the dog's white mane ruffling as she runs, full out

I am a baby’s gentle sigh

I am the hand of a friend slipped into yours during prayer-eyes shut.

I am the moon as it lingers.

Last Ice

With temps near 50 this shot of hanging icicles
off a rock wall (from last weekend)
is the last for the season!
Goodbye ice and freezing cold!

A Poetic Exercise

An Ode to P.B.

Peanut butter covers all bases

It soothes hunger pangs and sticks smartly

to young children’s faces…

Craving for creaminess it all but erases-

P.B.

It’s nifty

And it’s fine

It is

the peanut divine.

Tho’ oft not alone

With Jelly atop the throne

Of bagels

And of toast

P.B’s the most-

P.B.

When payday is ahead, looming far

You search the fridge for a single jar…

On plain saltines, it’s above par-

P.B.

For sealing letters-

Whoever knew?

It sticks to me

It sticks to you

P.B. shampoo?

No, that won’t do!

P.B.

Can it stop a leak?

Repair your car?

Ol’ George Washington Carver

Rightfully made it center star.

It took him far…

P.B.

Has it been

In outer space?

How many starlets sagging faces

Has it graced?

And could it heal

The human race?

P.B.

P.B. elixir-

It’s on T.V.

P.B. in your gas tank?

It just can’t be!

And that boo boo

There, on your knee…

Just rub

P.B.

Forest Fire Nearby

Yesterday starting a 3:45 P.M. a forest fire blazed on a mountain
opposite the one on which we live. By the night time it was blazing in
full view. Winds here were dry and gusting up to 55 M.P.H.
making it a real challenge to contain. Fire fighters were
called out to from all neighboring counties. I awoke this morning
to hear on the radio that all homes that were in
jeopardy were saved! We were able to procure these
photos across the valley to the mountain top that
was involved. I had never seen a fire line
so clearly and from this vantage point
before in my life.
Praises to all involved in fighting this fire.
It was really something to watch at night!
Let's hope that it is a one time event.
Apparently, it was started when
the high winds caused a tree to
fall down across electric lines...
I would say that I can surmise thus
far that living in the High Country
is not for the faint of heart.
