Night Time Visitor (bottom)
A truly
lumbering,
very large
(-gigantonormous-)
frog...
we stumbled
upon at night.
His little arms
had joints...
and he looked as if
he could do push-ups
and hang unto a tree trunk.
He was really strange.
We kept him under
a laundry basket for
our daughter to see!
Just another
cool example
of how nature
is very
LARGE in...
the
High Country
... here :)
And...
another recent
visitor.
:)

Wow - he's kind of grumpy looking!
ReplyDeleteIs that a red-headed falcon? He's beautiful!
ReplyDeleteYour daughter must have loved checking out that toad! He's HUGE!
Hey guys!
ReplyDeleteYes Lynn; he hung around graciously for awhile but was indeed a strange fellow! It was pitch black out except for our houselights so although we took many photos of him...none would focus that well! My dog scared him out of the center grass on an island we have. He lives around here and must have been stumped by our attentions surely.
Talon- It is a rather large woodpecker with corn in its mouth! Not a great shot (though) but his colors are exceptionally pretty!!! He doesn't come that close usually (hence the photo is stretching it!) Sadly, 'our' deer have all gone MIA; we are still putting out corn nightly (which Lakhi helps with...!) but fortunate for the birds...they also like the corn!!!!! They are all getting fat and sassy!
WAIT 'till you see our beetles. I will try & get a very good (extra large) specimen!!!!! Can't wait!
