P.S.
(I'm now SO hungry!)

                                                                     Here's to us! ;-)

This recipe has been added for you:

Mexican hot chocolate (Microwave version: INGREDIENTS

  • 1 1/2 tablespoons granulated sugar (more or less depending upon how sweet you like hot chocolate)
2 1/2 to 3 tablespoons Ghirardelli semi-sweet chocolate chips (depending upon the size of your mug)
1/2 to 3/4 cup milk or 1/2 and 1/2 (to fill up your mug 3/4's full)
1 small or tiny pinch of cayenne pepper (adjust to your liking, here)
    1/8 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
  • combine together sugar, chocolate chips, cayenne pepper and milk in large, microwave-safe mug.
  • MICROWAVE on HIGH (100%) power 25-30 seconds at a time until chocolate chips melt fully and are tempered. Let the mixture almost boil up to the top of the mug several times (at least 3 times in my experience; this is why you must stop the microwave and let the mixture sink back down.) It will take several bursts of microwave heating until the mixture 'breaks' and becomes glossy smooth. Stir several times along the way until fully combined and glossy thick and smooth. Serve with a huge marsh mellow on top.

Have to do it.

What...a game, what a game. 108 years later, the Cubbies have done it.

Well done.

Thinking of Florida

I spent many years in Florida and I raised my children there. I have many startling photographs of the area of Homestead, Florida in 1992 (immediately following H. Andrew) where my husband assisted in the rebuilding process (which was long and extensive.) These photos (a few of my favorite) are from the Gulf Coast.

St. Augustine (on the east coast) is one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen (it is loaded with historic architecture)...not to mention so many other wonderful cities on the (east) coast of Florida, Georgia and South Carolina...

Standard Fare

Thyme Polenta with Butter Grilled Chivey Shrimp, Garden Fresh Petite Stuffed Tomato, and Ginger Curd and Butter Gourmet Baby Carrots (compliments of the Sheboygan, WI farmer's market, 2016)

Oh my! This is 'standard dinner fare' around here!
We visited the Sheboygan (WI) farmer's market this weekend
and were delighted to find row after row of fresh vegetables and many flowers
to choose from, as well...
We procured these delightful tiny gourmet colored carrots there for this dish.
I apologize for the (kind of light) photograph as it was taken with a flash
after daylight hours! I was desperate to photograph it and used what
little light I had! I'm hoping the vivid colors, textures and my kind
of 'gleaming surfaces...' will suffice to entice your taste palate
and fuel your culinary passions!

Eat with your eyes! Eat to enjoy!

For months and months (...when I started this blog anew from Milwaukee, WI)
I could not get this mysterious list to reappear!
(Copy-paste-copy-paste-error message!!!)

Celebrating you.
