Sunrise (Series) in the Fall

Sunrise on the
mountain; at
about 3800
feet or so, give
or take a
few feet here
and there...
We had to
get up and
to photograph
this sky.
For some reason,
the sky and
all of its intricacies
seem clearer
and it has greater
color variation
in the fall here!
The colors are
rich, saturated
and very deep.
Ahhhh. Behold.

Stakhovsky this afternoon.

as I am 'spirited away'
by the game.

Elk River Amazing

This is
truly a beautiful
waterfall.
Top:
Head on.
Next:
Of course,
our visit was
very much
'upstaged' by
a group of older
teenage boys
jumping the
almost 65
foot drop. I could
hardly watch.
Out of a rather
large group,
two young men
'successfully'
jumped from
the radically sloped
and very slippery
large rounded
bolder top. This is definitely
NOT recommended.
The (wiser) others,
would not
even venture it
(thank God here.)
My husband happened
to snap these
while photographing
the falls.

Elk Falls

We took a journey
to see a waterfall
this weekend.
This is Elk Falls
of Elk Park, N.C.
It is a 65 foot
drop to the
bottom
(Larger than it
looks here!)
Top:
A rocky outcropping
overhead along
the way. The path
to reach this was
less than 1/4 mile!
Next Several:
Close-ups of the
water and humongous
boulders surrounding
the fall, including
my favorite; 'Water
through Red-leafed
Trees.'
Next Two:
The falls itself
with the water
basin below. This
falls basin is swimable.
Bottom:
The mountainous
view along the
way (down.)

We snapped this shot last night.
The photo quality isn't great
(it's grainy) but the profile of
the mountain top is
pretty good!

Architectural Beauty!

These gorgeous photos

building in Asheville, N.C.
I think the colors and geometric
pattern are fabulous! My husband
is responsible for removing all the tile
and refurbishing it!

Recent rains
have caused
little tributaries to
run strong.

runs strong
and looks much
like flowing
chocolate!
This rushing
noise was
the backdrop
for a concert
in Todd, N.C.
where the
87 year old
(blind) singer
/songwriter
/guitarist
Doc Watson performed
live for a group of about
100 near Todd General
Store (Middle Shot.)

in the cool

good time
was had...by all.

that I haven't
yet shared.
I nick-named
this ol' fella'
'Mr. FuddyDuddle'
because I thought
that he had obvious
character and charm.
Well- he charmed me!
