Ravaged

Here is
(another)
photo
from my journey
yesterday
with the dog
into the woods;
the aftermath
here seen
of a harsh
and brutal
winter ice storm;
2009.
I look forward
~sincerely~
to post
*before and after*
photos
when the lush
green
foliage of
spring
and then
summer
transform the forest floor.

Today,
I must admit,
and I can't help
but
wonder~
(can) do (?) people's lives
parallel this event?
I have been
thinking about
a women
(and others I know)
who describes
a childhood
that was
ravaged.
Is there a natural process
(and rightfully so a
super-natural one...)
that renews the forest floor
(of people's lives?)
For me,
I must believe that it is so.

  1. It is sad to think of lives being ravaged, but it does happen and in so many different ways. And when the spirits are so cruelly broken, it is hard to imagine that they recover wholly and complete...but I'd like to think so, too.
